Problem

Many bridge decks in the North America Metropolitan area suffer from significant damage and spalling of concrete. The enormous size of this problems required advanced repair materials that can be placed and cured in a very short time to prevent traffic delays. CarbonWrap™ Solutions’ high strength PolyCon 500 was used to patch spalled areas of concrete.

Solution

The high strength, PolyCon 500 was applied to the damaged areas of concrete to create a permanent solution to the spalling concrete in those areas. Polycon 500 is a waterless compound that cures in less than two hours to compressive strengths exceeding 12,500 psi.  This self leveling compound is very easy to work with and will not develop a cold joint between the new and old concrete. In fact, it would be extremely difficult to remove the Polycon from the old.
